Camping at Henry Cowell Redwoods State ParkItinerary
Prep AheadIf you have never gone camping before, might want to go over a basic camping checklist. Since this is car camping, there's not as much concern about the amount and weight of stuff as for backpacking. Feel free to pack whatever you can fit in your car :D Camping Checklist Check the weather forecast: Download driving directions ahead of time: We've never been to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park before, so no idea how the cellular reception is like. Safest is just to download offline maps for that area onto your phone ahead of time just in case. Prepare walkie-talkies:

Camping LogisticsAlthough it'd be more efficient to figure out who's bringing items that can be shared with the entire group, I'm too lazy to plan and coordinate, so everyone is responsible for bringing their own gear, food, and water. Or, you are welcome to coordinate on your own with others in the group :) About Henry Cowell Redwoods State ParkWe'll be camping at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park near Santa Cruz, which is about a 45 minute drive from Almaden. The campground is shady with flush toilets and hot showers. Showers are quarter-operated. For more information, check out the following links: Hiking Trails: Click on the following link to navigate via Google Maps: Campsite InfoAt the Graham Hill Campground, we've booked the following campsites: 68, 71, 73, Campsite cost is $35 per campsite per night. Each campsite is a max of 8 people, and includes 1 vehicle for free. Additional vehicles are $10 each. We'll sum up the cost of the campsites and vehicles, and divide by total # of people per night to figure the cost per person.
