2017-10-21Guadalupe River TrailLittle J was awesome!  He's finally getting over being a bit traumatized and cautious after crashing into the wall.  He's now averaging 5mph on his little balance bike, topping out at 8mph on flat and 12mph going down hills and ramps.  He biked 4.2 miles in the morning, and after lunch he biked another 4.2 miles for a total of 8.4 miles!  He totally collapsed afterwards, haha.

2017-08-12Los Gatos Creek TrailWeather was beautiful for biking. The Los Gatos Creek Trail started out wide and shady. Little J soon wanted to bike, but it was a slight grade up on the trail, so he gave up after 1.5 miles.  After Vasona Lake Park, the trail got narrower and very crowded.  This section wasn't as fun to bike, and it turns out there was an Art and Wine Festival at The Los Gatos Town Plaza Park that day, so we didn't have any room to have a picnic there.  We ended up getting food to go from nearby restaurants and sitting on a ledge at the edge of the park to eat.  VL and I went around with Little J to check out the booths and sample some food. Afterwards, we decided to bike back to Vasona Lake Park to  hang out there instead.  Little J insisted on biking some more, so we spent 1+ hour biking 3.5 miles with him before he finally collapsed.  He fell asleep 2 minutes after putting him in the baby seat, haha.  He kept on sleeping once we got back to St. Elizabeth Park, so the older J's played at the playground until Little J woke up.

2017-06-11Guadalupe River TrailThis was another very windy day for biking (17mph wind).  However, it was mostly sunny and not too cold, so was still a nice ride. Little J struggled against the wind and gave up after 1.5 miles on the way there, and 1.3 miles on the way back. Youngest E biked for 45 minutes on the way there before needing to be towed, and 1.6 miles on the way back. That's a big improvement for her! With all the wind, it was perfect for flying a kite once we got to Thamien Park. All the kids ran around trying to fly the kites, but it was hard for them to keep the kites from crashing when the wind changed. Hubby managed to get the kite flying pretty high, but was limited by the string length. I took a reel of string from another kite and tied it to Hubby's kite's string, which doubled the length. The kite was flying pretty high after that. Hubby got lazy and tied the end of the string to a tree branch, haha. That actually worked for a while, but the kite ended up crashing down. The kids had fun playing in the playground, playing trucks in the sand, crashing DK's high-speed RC cars, playing handball, and munching on fruit/snacks.

2017-04-22Foster City Bay TrailIt was a cool day and very windy for biking. Little J was only able to bike 1 mile or so before he got tired. We enjoyed lunch at Fat Wok Restaurant and hung out at Foster City Lagoon afterwards. The wind made it perfect for flying kites. Middle J and Hubby had a blast flying the kites, but unfortunately Middle J accidentally let go of the string and the kite flew straight into the lagoon. Oldest J and I played card games. Little J wanted to bike around the lagoon area, and requested that I take pictures of him on his bike, hahaha. Rather than biking back the long way on the trail against the gusts, we decided to bike on the streets to shave off several miles.

2016-12-22 Home to Morgan HillMy honey and I took advantage of the Older J's still being in school and my mom being available to watch Little J, and we went on a bike ride, just the two of us :P It was a gorgeous day for biking. Sunny, and cool.  Coyote Creek Trail was surrounded by lush green grass at this time of year. It was a very good work out for us, haha, and we ended up not being able to make it back up over IBM Almaden Research Center after 30 miles of biking. So, we biked an additional 4 miles to go all the way around the mountain via Santa Teresa, Coleman, and Almaden Expressway, for a total of 45 miles.

2016-11-13Guadalupe River TrailOn this ride, 2-year old Little J biked 3 miles of the trail all on his own on his little balance bike! Surprisingly, he was actually averaging around 4-5 mph. He had lots of fun going "weeeee" down the ramp, and even made it back up the slope on the other side. I could tell he was getting very tired, but he still wanted to bike when I asked him if he wanted to stop. He finally did stop, and just collapsed over his handlebars, haha. One minute after putting him in the baby seat, he was fast asleep and completely out :P

2016-09-25Monterey Recreational TrailOn this ride, we stopped at The Wharf Marketplace to pick up food for lunch. They have a stationary tractor, and the kids loved "riding" on it. Later we went to the beach and had seaside ocean view dining, haha. Doesn't get much better than that!

2016-06-25Foster City Bay TrailThis ride was fun with lots of people joining us. However, I think the banquet-style feast we had for dinner afterwards pretty much negated all the biking we did plus more, haha! No more letting my brother-in-law pick the restaurant! ;)
